Tweet Tweet! Sick Kids Save Point Sprouts A Competition

Sick Kids Save Point week is here! First up Alex Sievwright who because of work commitments will be starting his 24 hour gaming marathon on Wednesday. Alex has challenged himself to only play games based on movies, which will be a tough one. From Alex’s marathon to Joseph Blythe, who will be kicking off on Friday morning, you can follow events unfold via the #sksp hashtag on twitter.

Tilt & Sprout: go check out their webcomic & vid

Talking of twitter, to celebrate the hour we have 30 copies of the ace tilting iphone game Tilt & Sprout to give away, thanks to local developers Twiddly. Just head on to twitter, follow @TiltAndSprout and retweet the relevant tweet to enter. It’ll be a @SKsavepoint tweet, so make sure to be following us too! Competition closes when Alex kicks off his marathon on wednesday!

Holy Countdown Batfolks

With 2 weeks to go, things are gathering apace for a crazy weekend of games. We’ve been putting posters up around Edinburgh, including at the Sick Kids.

In the meantime this weekend sees pacesetter Richard Adams embarking on his ‘dev marathon’ in which he’ll be making as many games as he can in 24 hours. We’ve sponsored him suggesting a game using our wee sprite logo as a character. Why not sponsor him to make a suggestion? At least show him some support.

The rest of us are hard in training getting into shape for our 24 hour video games marathon in aid of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation on the weekend of 12th -14th October 2012. If you think playing games and saving kids sounds like something you could do, it’s not too late to sign up. Just read our Safety guidelines and create a Just Giving Page
What are you playing this weekend? tweet us with the #sksptraining hashtag, or come chat to us on Facebook.

Make Sick Kids Save Point a murder mystery weekend!

Edinburgh Indie studio Blazing Griffin is relaunching The Ship, a unique multiplayer PC game.

“Set on a series of luxury, art deco cruise ships built by Mr X, this devilish game challenges you to kill or be killed. Once you’re on board you’re given the name of another passenger whom you must find and secretly murder. Watch out for security unless you want to do some time in jail, take care of yourself and keep looking over your shoulder because somewhere out there is another hunter looking for you!”

Blazing Griffin have nailed their awesome credentials to the mast by giving us 5 copies of the game towards our prize list – crivvens! Not only that, but each code has two gift codes for your friends, and each of those has a further one. This means each code allows five of you to set sail for a wink murder cruise!
If there’s a group of five SKSPers that want to play this game during their games marathon, make sure you’re following @SKsavepoint and @BlazingGriffin and tweet us the following:
“Hi @SKsavepoint, we’d love to kill each other on board #TheShip during #SKSP, thanks to @BlazingGriffin”
But it’ll be first come first served… a dish best served cold.
